TripMapper Application Fees with Stripe
When taking payment online using Stripe and TripMapper, we take a small additional application fee ranging from 1% for businesses on the Cabin plan to 0.5% for businesses on the Suitcase and Trunk plans.
Users on the Private plan are able to customise their TripMapper application fees alongside their annual subscription.
How does it work
We use Stripe's 'Application Charge' functionality to inform Stripe about the transaction charge. When your client pays you, the money is sent directly to your Stripe account. From there, Stripe calculates the transaction fees based on your account and the location and payment method of your customer.
At the same time, Stripe calculates the TripMapper application fee on the gross transaction amount and sends that to us.
Examples
Example Transaction (UK Business → UK Client)
In this example, a user is a business that is operating out of the UK and is charging their customer in the UK £10.00. The business is on the Suitcase plan and so will incur a 0.5% TripMapper application fee.
From that £10.00 payment:
Stripe processing fees*: £0.35 (1.5% + 20p)
TripMapper application fee: £0.05 (0.5%)
Total fees (Stripe fees + TripMapper application fee): £0.40
Net amount you receive: £9.60
