Working with images
All images you upload to the system are cropped and resized to fix the areas where you’re showing them, and keep them quick to load for you and your clients.
Below is a rough guide on the different image sizes you'll find throughout the platform.
Image sizes and formats
We recommend using .jpgs for the imagery you upload to TripMapper. JPG files are far smaller when dealing with photo-style images. The .png file format should be reserved for logos or graphics, such as illustrations.
The maximum upload size for an image on TripMapper is 10MB, although we recommend uploading images much smaller than that. We generally suggest uploading images no larger than around 3-4MB and no larger than 5000px x 5000px.
Dimensions
The dimensions listed below are the sizes we crop to, so always try to aim for your image to be that size or larger. If you upload an image that's smaller than that size, the system may show it larger than it truly is, causing blurriness or pixelation.
Overview
Banner
A 3:1 aspect ratio, so any image you upload will be cropped from the middle in a widescreen format. Bear in mind that this image will be used on the mobile app in a portrait orientation, and will therefore require that the focal point of the image be as central as possible.
Brochure
Gallery
The tallest image in the gallery block is 964px tall. If you aim for roughly square images, they should work well across all three images. You'll lose a little on the sides of the portrait images and a little on the top and bottom of the more landscape image.
Half Image
Full Image
Roughly 5:4 aspect ratio, although any conventional landscape image taken at around 4:3 aspect ratio will work well. Bear in mind that the content will overlay one half of the image, so it is recommended to have the focal point be on the left or right of the shot.
Cards
Card Banner
This is the image that shows on the card in card and list view, and that also shows at the top of the card when open in the side drawer.
